Timeless Arctic 2021 Archaeological Expedition (TA2021 Expedition)

The TA2021 Expedition provides a mobile platform for a range of individual projects rooted in archaeology, archaeozoology, spatial analysis, plastic litter, positive psychology, bacteriology, and more. This parent project deals with the logistical aspects of the expedition, which sub-projects (all with their own RiS IDs) will refer back to.

The TA2021 Expedition on board the chartered MV Ulla Rinman is a platform for a range of other research projects. The main focus is an archaeological one, and the Expedition is essential to reach, access, and investigate a selection of fieldwork locations, some of which are already known to the team from previous fieldwork, some of which they have not visited before. The project owner and expedition leader is Dr. Frigga Kruse. Responsible for planning, coordination, and bear watch, she will also visually re-assess the archaeological potential of any sites visited in order to assist with formulating new research questions in Svalbard archaeology and cultural heritage.
