Installation and operation of a new Cimel sun-sky-moon radiometer (CE318-T) for year around measurements of aerosol optical depth according to the standardized AERONET retrieval. Combined aerosol evaluation with lidar and comparison to in-situ aerosol observations.

The mentioned Cimel radiometer allows to derive via sky radiance measurements the inversion of aerosol microphysical properties. The University of Valladolid has a long-lasting expertise in these methods and is one of the reference calibration centers for radiometers. Together with the remote sensing expertise of AWI microphysical aerosol properties should be analysed and published jointly. Close cooperation to aerosol in-situ measurements is highly welcomed from the beginning to obtain a closure between the microphysical and optical properties of Aerosol.
